12.6.2 Configure hot spare drives

If you select Configure hot spare drives option in Select Configuration Task window
(Figure 12-6 on page 310), a new window opens for a hot spare configuration. In this window
(Figure 12-10) you have two choices: Automatic or manual configuration of hot spares.

The concept of a hot spare drive is explained in 10.3, "Set hot spare drive" on page 268
section. There you can also find detailed description of the same "Hot Spare Drive Option"
window, and how to set hot spare drives.

12.6.3 Create arrays and logical drives

The third option in Figure 12-6 on page 310 is Create Arrays and Logical Drives. It is for
manual definition of arrays and logical drives.
Select this option and window as in Figure 12-11 on page 314 opens, where you can start a
wizard which guide you thru definition process. If no array was created already, you only have
last option (Create a new array using unconfigured capacity) available. After you create an
array, you can continue with a logical drive creation on this array immediately.
