Figure 9-15 Array and Logical Drives deletion
If some of the LogicalDrive cannot be deleted (because of any reason), also the Array cannot
be deleted.
For renaming of selected Array (Figure 9-16), you must use a new unused name. Names in
DS Storage Manager are case sensitive, and an array name can consist of letters, numbers,
and the special characters underscore (_), hyphen (-), and pound (#). If you choose any other
characters, an error message appears. You are prompted to choose another name.

9.3.6 Replace Drive

This menu item is active in the case, that some disk drive in the Array is failed or missing. In
this case you can replace the failed or missed drive by some other one. This procedure is
described in 10.4, "Failed disk drive replacement" on page 272.

9.4 Working with Free Capacity

Only possible way to use the Free Capacity of a specified Array, is to configure a new Logical
Drive. Theoretical number of Logical Drives per one Array is 256, but reasonable number is
much less.
If you select Free Capacity line in the Logical pane tree (as in Figure 9-17 on page 239), you
can see the basic information about this capacity on the properties pane. You can right click
on the Free Capacity and select "View Associated Physical Components" to see which disk
drives are associated with that free capacity.
