The following are recommendations to do before mapping the logical drives.
Check the compatibility in IBM System Storage Interoperation Center(SSIC) web site
http://www.ibm.com/systems/support/storage/config/ssic
environment and also to be sure which multipath driver is needed (RDAC, MPIO, DMM,
etc).
Download the latest multipath driver from the IBM support web site.
Read carefully the multipath driver README file to see which kernel version is supported
with that driver.
For iSCSI there is no specific zoning configuration to be done switches. It is highly
recommended to isolate the iSCSI traffic from the regular ethernet traffic by using different
physical switches or by configuring VLANs.
Note: Storage subsystems with iSCSI ports do not support direct-attached connections
from the host systems to the storage subsystem iSCSI ports.
Use different subnets for each Storage port in the same controller as shown in
Figure 20-15 on page 618. In our case we use network 192.168.130.0/24 for subnet 1 and
192.168.131.0/24 for subnet 2.
