IMAP Server Health Checks

Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is a mail server protocol used between a client sys-
tem and a mail server that allows a user to retrieve and manipulate mail messages. IMAP is not
used for mail transfers between mail servers. IMAP servers listen to TCP port 143.
Configuring the Switch for IMAP Health Check
To support IMAP health checking, the network administrator must
word value in the switch, using the content option on the SLB Real Server Group Menu (/
cfg/slb/group)
To configure the switch for IMAP health checks:
1.
Select the health check menu for the real server group.
>> # /cfg/slb/group 1
2.
Set the health check type to IMAP for the real server group..
>> # /cfg/slb/group 1/health imap
3.
Configure the health check content.
>> # /cfg/slb/group 1/content <username>:<password>
The content option specifies the username:password value that the server tries to match in
its user database. In addition to verifying the user name and password, the database may spec-
ify the client(s) or port(s) the user is allowed to access.
4.
Apply and save your configuration.
>> # Real server group 1# apply
>> # Real server group 1# save
