After you have prepared your installation site as described in "M320 Site Preparation
Checklist Requirements" on page 41, you are ready to unpack and install the router. It is
important to proceed through the installation process in the following order:
Review the safety guidelines explained in "General Safety Guidelines for M Series, MX
1.
Series, and T Series Routers" on page 211.
Unpack the router and verify the parts received.
2.
Install the mounting hardware.
3.
See "Installing the M320 Mounting Hardware for a Four-Post Rack or Cabinet" on
page 56or "Installing the M320 Mounting Hardware for Open-Frame Racks" on page 60.
Install the chassis.
4.
See "Installing the M320 Router Using a Mechanical Lift" on page 63 or "Installing the

To unpack the router and prepare for installation, you need the following tools:
Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2
1/2-in. or 13-mm open-end or socket wrench to remove bracket bolts from the shipping
pallet
