R em ove the seats b y m illing the rings. T ake great care not to dam a ge the
seat locations in the head. C heck the diam eter of the seat locations in the
head and choose the m ost suitable oversize valve seat taking into account
that clearances at assem bly should be 0.0047 ÷0.0 063 in for the inle t and
0.0043÷0.00 62 in for the e xhaust. S pare valve seats are supplied w ith an
oversize outer diam eter of 0.0011 in. (m arked in W H IT E ) o r 0.002 3
in. (m arked in R E D ).
E venly h eat the head and keep it for 1 hou r at a te m peratu re of 200 °C (392 °
F ).
Install the valve seats and set the valve seats w ith special tool.
A llow to cool the n m ill the seats and grind the valves.
V alve g u id es
C arry out a careful visual check of the valve guides.
T he valve guides should be checked for w e ar b y m easuring the clearance
betw een the valve stem and valve guide; use a dial gauge and m ea sure the
clearances on the "x" and "y" axe s.
Inlet valve nom inal clearance: 0.000787÷0.00 181 in.
W ear lim it: 0.00354 in.
E xhaust valve nom inal clearance: 0.000787÷0.001 81 in.
W ear lim it: 0.00177 in.
