C arb u re to r a d ju stm e n t
A djust the carburetor w ith w a rm e ngine and w ith th e throttle in closed posi-
tion.
W ork as follow s:
- T urn slow running adjusting screw (1) o n the left s ide of the bike un til the
engine is turning over at fairly high rpm (tu rn the screw clock w ise to increase
the rpm , an d anticlockw ise to decrease the rpm ).
- T urn adjusting screw (2) clockw ise until the fully c losed position is reached
then turn b ack 1,5 turns.
- prog ressively lo osen adjusting screw (1) to obtain the slow runnin g re-
quired.
N O T E
A n incorrect idle jet size could cause troubles of starting of the en gine.
In this case:
- if turning the sc re w (2 ), no e ngine speed change is obtained, a sm aller idle
jet has to be installed;
- if the engine sto ps w he n the scre w (2) is not yet c om pletely turn ed, a larger
idle jet has to be installed.
A fter the idle jet replacem ent, rep eat the C arbu retor
adjustm ent .
B esides, if w ith a com pletely throttle grip open, poo r acceleration or slow
pickup of the eng ine or sooty spa rk plug are obtain ed, it is necessary to
check the w ea r o f these carbureto r parts: th rottle valve, m etering pin and
needle jet (m ixtu re enrichm ent). S ee the ne xt page s.

- T urn slow running adjusting screw (1) o n the left s ide of the bike, near the
fuel cock (turn th e screw clockw is e to increase the rpm , and an ticlockw ise to
decrease the rp m ).

- C arb ureto r bod y
C ontam ination: C lean
2. Inspect:
- M ain jet (1)
- P ilot jet (2)
- N eedle jet (1 2)
- P ilot screw (7)
- S tarte r jet (3)
- M ain air jet (4)
- P ilot air jet (8)
D am age: R e place
C ontam ination: C lean
N O T E :
- U se a petroleu m based solvent for cleaning. B low o ut all passages and jets
w ith com p ressed air.
- N ever use a w ire.
