F ollow the instru ctions from F IG .6 to F IG . 9, as indicated in the abov e
paragraph.

R em ove the dust seal (12) from th e slider top (7) w ith a sm all screw driver.

U se the sam e scre w driver a nd re m ove the stop rin g (11) o f the oil seal (10) on
the slider.

P ull out the slider (7) from the stan chion tube (5-6 ). P ull vigorously to pull the
tw o parts apa rt. In this w a y, oil seal (10), cup (9) a nd pilot bushing (8) w ill be
rem oved from th e slider.

R em ove the pilot bushing (39) fro m the stanchion w ith a flat scre w d river
inserted in the bu shing slot.
T hen, rem ove pilot bushing (8), c up (9), oil seal (10), stop ring (11) and dust
seal (12) from th e stanchion.
IM P O R T A N T : o n ce rem oved, oil seals shall never be reused.
C heck for prop er operating conditions of the pilot bushings before
reassem bling. S hould the y b e scored or scratche d, change them . C heck for
proper con ditions of the T eflon co ating; it m ust be on at least æ of the total
surface. If not, ch ange the bushing .

P ut som e adhesive tape onto the stanchion top (5-6) to avoid an y d am ages to
the oil seals. F it the follow ing pa rts into the stanchion according to the given
order: d ust seal (12), stop ring (11 ), oil seal (10), cu p (9) an d pilot bu shing (8).
R em ove the tape and an y possible glue residue.

Insert a flat screw d river into the p ilot bushing slot (39) and fit it into the
stanchion: put the bushing into its seat b y han d.

G ently fit the stanchion (5-6) w ith the bushing into the slider (7). P ilot bushing
(8), cup (9) and o il seal (10) should rest against the slider.

F it the pusher p a rt no. R 50 80A C on the stanchion tube (5-6) an d pu sh pilot
bushing (8), cup (9) and oil seal into their seat (10 ).

F it the stop ring (11). M ake sure it is perfectly seated into the slider groove.
A lso, m ake sure not to scratch the stanchion.

F ill w ith oil and reassem ble all rem oved parts as d escribed in the previous
