R em o vin g th e fro n t w h eel
S et a stand or a block under the e ngine and see th at the front w heel is lifted from the ground. L oosen the bolts (1) holding the
w h eel axle (2) to the front fo rk stanchions.
S M : rem ove the tw o scre w s (A ) an d the brake caliper.
H old the head of the w heel a xle (2 ) in place, unscrew the bolt (3 ) on the opposite side; dra w the w heel axle out.
D o not ope rate the front b rake le ver w hen the w h eel has been re m oved; this causes the caliper piston to m ove outw ards.
A fter rem oval, la y do w n the w he e l w ith brake disc on top.

F it the L.H . spac er on the w heel h ub.
T E : F it the w h eel betw een th e fro nt fork legs so that the brake disc is fitted into the caliper.
S M : F it the w hee l betw e en the fro nt fork legs.
F it the w heel a xle (2) from the R .H . side, after gre asing it and push it to the stop on the L.H . leg; du ring this operation, the w heel
should be turned .
T ighten the scre w (3) o n the fo rk L.H . side but D O N O T lock it. N o w , pum p for a w hile, pushing the ha ndlebar do w n w ards until you
are sure tha t the fork legs are perfectly aligned.
Lock: the screw s (1) on the R .H . leg (10,4 N m / 1,0 5 K gm / 7.7 ft-lb), the scre w (3 ) on the L.H . side (51,45 N m / 5,25 K g m / 38 ft-lb),
the scre w s (1) o n the L.H . leg (10,4 N m / 1,05 K gm / 7.7 ft-lb).
S M : fit the brake caliper on the disc; assem ble the caliper on its holding plate and tig hten the scre w s (A ) at 25,5 N m / 2,6 K gm /
18.8 ft-lb.
C heck that the brake disc slides betw een the calip er pads w ithout a n y friction.
C heck the distance betw een m ag net on the b rake disc and sensor on the brake caliper (pa ge I. 15 ).
A fter reassem bly, pum p the b rake control lever until the pads are ag ainst the brake disc.
