B leed in g th e re ar b reakin g s ys tem
T he braking s ystem m ust be bled w h en, due to air in the circuit, the pedal
stroke is long and spong y.
T o bleed the s ystem :
- R em ove the res ervoir cover rubb er boot an d top u p w ith (D O T 4 ) brake fluid.
- A ttach a clear p lastic hose to the bleed valve (1) o n the caliper and turn the
other end of the hose into a conta iner.
- D epress the pe dal (2) and kee p it full dow n.
- Loosen the ble ed union letting o ut fluid (at first, o nly air w ill com e out), then,
closing the union slightly.
- R elease the pe dal and w ait for a fe w seconds before rep eating the operation
until only fluid co m e out of the tu b e.
- C lose the bleed union to the pre scribed torque a nd check the fluid level (A )
inside the reservoir before replacing the cap. If the bleeding operation has be
done correctly, th e pedal w ill have no m ush y feel. If not, repeat the
operation.
