In the C .D .I. s ystem the electrical energ y gene rate d b y the alternator charges the c ondenser.
T he ene rg y is released in a single surge at the spe cified ignition tim ing and the curre nt flow s th rough the prim ary side o f the igni-
tion coil. A high voltage is
induced in the secondary w in ding s of the ignition coil, resulting a strong spark betw e en the ignition spark plug gap.
T he digital electronic ignition allow s to chang e the tim ing curve according w ith the fo llow ing item s:

T his system allo w s to o ptim ize the engine perform ances in every condition of em ploym ent. In case of throttle valve or transm ission
gear failure, the ignition
is able to allow th e use of the m otorc ycle ho w ever.
T he electronic ignition system co nsists of (page M .23):

- A lternator (2);
- V oltage reg ulator-rectifier (3);
- S park plug (1 9);
- N eutral position sensor (22);
- Ignition coil (23);
- C arb ureto r throttle position sensor T P S (2 4);
