Connecting the power cables

Equipment damage
l The power cables must be connected to an easily accessible, grounded outlet.
l The power cables must be connected in a way that ensures that power does not
exceed the circuit breaker capacity of the power distribution panel or that of the
power distribution box in the rack.
This section describes the power cable connections to the main unit.
The number of power cables required depends on how power is to be supplied to the
main unit. There are five methods of supplying power:
l
Non-redundant PSU configuration for 100 VAC power supply
l
Non-redundant PSU configuration for 200 VAC power supply
l
Redundant PSU configuration (N+1) for 100 VAC power supply
l
Redundant PSU configuration (N+1) for 200 VAC power supply
l
Dual power feed (for 200 VAC)
Note:
The basic configuration supports only the 100 VAC power supply. An extra-
cost option must be ordered to use either a 200 VAC power supply or a dual
power feed. Simultaneous use of the redundant power supply and the dual
power feed is not supported.
