CHAPTER 3 PRIMEPOWER850 Rack-mount Type (16U) Server
l Mounting of the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server in the rack
should not cause an unbalanced load. To maintain the stability of the entire rack,
please fix the rack to the wall or floor by suitable means.
- Be careful of injuries during installation of the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount
type (16U) server into the rack.
- Do not install the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server into a rack
if the server unit may make the entire rack unstable.
- Maximum configured weight of this unit: 160 kg (352.8 lb.)
l If the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server is supplied with power
from a power strip or service outlet of other units, it may overload the power
supply cord or the power strip of other units.
- Confirm that the current rating of the power strip or service outlet exceeds the
combined ratings of all equipment it is supplying.
- Electrical ratings of this unit: 100-120 to 200-240VAC, 6.0A to 4.5A per power
cable, 50/60Hz, single-phase
l Reliable earth grounding of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained.
• General installation notes
l Keep ventilation holes clear of obstructions.
l Install the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server away from direct
sunlight or sources of heat.
l Install the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server in an environment
free of dust, corrosive gas, and ocean spray.
l Isolate the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server from vibration.
l Install the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server on a level surface.
l The AC power supply source must be properly grounded, with a maximum
resistance of 100 Ohms. Also, do not ground the AC power supply source using a
shared ground. Use only an independent grounding point. A shared ground may
cause the server to malfunction.
l Avoid running a cable beneath a unit and prevent cables from becoming taut.
l Never disconnect the power cable while the unit is powered on.
l Keep objects off the top of the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server
at all times.
l Raise the ambient room temperature slowly in the winter to prevent condensation
in the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server.
l Use the PRIMEPOWER850 rack-mount type (16U) server only after it has
reached an operating temperature within the specified temperature range.
