CHAPTER 4 PCIBOX
4.3.3

Adding PCIBOX PCI cards

PCI cards are classified into three types: (1) PCI cards designed to operate in a 3.3-V
slot, (2) PCI cards designed to operate in a 5-V slot, and (3) PCI cards (universal type)
designed to operate in either a 3-V or 5-V slot. Most PCI cards operate with a 33-
MHz clock, but some PCI cards operate with a 66-MHz clock. To install a PCI card,
select an appropriate slot according to
slots.

This item indicates the PCI bus group.
Each PCI slot has a 64-bit width. A 64-bit or 32-bit PCI card can be
inserted.
The operation-enabled frequency of the slot. A PCI card that can operate
with a 33 or 66-MHz clock operates on a frequency of 66 MHz.
The voltage level of a PCI card that can be inserted into the slot.
- A PCI card that can only operate on 3.3 V can operate in a 3.3-V slot,
but cannot operate in a 5-V slot.
