(3) Dual power feed
If the main unit is connected to two power supply systems with this option, processing
can continue even though one of the power supply systems fails.
4The use of dual power feed requires installation of the dual power feed option.
Dual power feed cannot be used by simply connecting the power cables to
different power supply systems without the installation of this option.
In general, this option is installed at the factory. If it is required, order it together
with the server. For on-site installation, contact Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens
Computers.
4The power supply unit (PSU) expansion units used depend on whether dual
power feed is supported. For details, see Section
Power cables for the dual power feed must be connected as described below:
• Number of power cables
Fujitsu Siemens Computers:
Two 25A power distribution boxes (with 10 sockets each, power cable with 32 A CEE
plug, IEC 309) and eight power cables with appliance connectors (10 A, IEC320) are
supplied.
Fujitsu:
One power cable for side 0 (supplied with the main unit) and one power cable for side
1 (supplied with the optional unit); 4P twist-lock, 200-240 VAC, 30 A each
Connect the main unit power cables to 200-240 VAC grounded outlets as shown in
Figure 3.8.
Note 1: The power cable for side 0 and the power cable for side 1 must be connected
to separate power supplies.
