EVAPORAT IVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTE M ('84 Cali fornia model)
This model complies with California Air Resou rces Board requi rements fo r evaporative emission regu lations.
Fuel vapor from the fuel tank is routed
into a
churco<JI c<Jnister where it is absorbed and stored whi le the engine is stopped.
\l\/hcn the motorcycle is running and the purge control diaphra!Jm valve is open. fuel vapor in t he charcoal canister is drawn
into
thl~
engine through the carburetor.
After '85 :
Th is model comnlies with California Air Resources Board evaporative em ission requ irements. Fuel vapor from the fuel

and carburetor is d irected into Lhe t:harcoal canister where it is absorbed and stored while the engine is stopped. When the
engine is runni ng and the purge control diaph ragm valve is open. fue l va por in the charcoal canister
is
drawn into
the
engine
through the carburetor.
