Fuel Tank
How to Remove the Fuel Tank
Explosion and fire hazard. Engine
fuels are combustible. Remove the
fuel tank in an open, well-
ventilated area away from heaters,
sparks, flames and lighted
tobacco. Always have an
approved fire extinguisher within
easy reach.
Explosion and fire hazard. When
transferring fuel, connect a
grounding wire between the
machine and pump or container.
Explosion and fire hazard. Never
drain or store fuel in an open
container due to the possibility of
fire.
1 Remove the fuel filler cap from the tank.
2 Using an approved hand-operated pump, drain
the fuel tank into a suitable container. Refer to
Section 2, Machine Specifications .
Note: Be sure to only use a hand operated pump
suitable for use with gasoline and/or diesel fuel.
3 Tag, disconnect and plug the fuel supply and
return hoses from the fuel tank.

4 Clean up any fuel that may have spilled.
5 Loosen the fuel tank mounting strap fastener.
Pull the tank strap to the side.
Note: Do not remove the tank strap.
6 Remove the fuel tank from the machine.
Component damage hazard. During
installation, do not overtighten the
fuel tank strap mounting fastener.
Note: Clean the fuel tank and inspect
for cracks or other damage before installing.
