Clean the Fuel Tank -
Diesel Models
Genie requires that this procedure be performed
every 500 hours or six months, whichever comes
first.
Removing sediment from the fuel tank is essential
to good engine performance and service life. A
dirty fuel tank may cause the fuel filter to clog
prematurely resulting in poor engine performance
and possible component damage.
Explosion and fire hazard. Engine
fuels are combustible. Clean the
fuel tank in an open, well-ventilated
area away from heater, sparks,
flames and lighted tobacco.
Always have an approved fire
extinguisher within easy reach.
Note: Immediately clean up any fuel that may have
spilled during this procedure.
1 Using an approved hand-operated pump, drain
the fuel tank into a suitable container. Refer to
Section 2, Specifications , for tank capacity.
Explosion and fire hazard. When
transferring fuel, connect a
grounding wire between the
machine and pump or container.
Note: Be sure to only use a hand operated pump
suitable for use with gasoline and/or diesel fuel.
