Fuel and Hydraulic Tanks
How to Remove the Fuel and
Hydraulic Tank Assembly
Explosion and fire hazard.
Engine fuels are combustible.
Remove the fuel tank in an
open, well-ventilated area away
from heaters, sparks, flames
and lighted tobacco. Always
have an approved fire
extinguisher within easy reach.
Explosion and fire hazard.
Never drain or store fuel in an
open container due to the
possibility of fire.
Explosion and fire hazard. When
transferring fuel, connect a
grounding wire between the
machine and pump or container.

Disconnect the battery from the machine.
Electrocution/burn hazard.
Contact with electrically charged
circuits could result in death or
serious injury. Remove all rings,
watches and other jewelry.

Remove the battery from the machine.

Tag and disconnect the wire harness from the
fuel level terminals.

Remove the filler cap from the hydraulic tank.

Place a drain pan or other suitable container
under the hydraulic tank. Refer to
Specifications, Machine Specifications.

Remove the drain plug from the hydraulic tank
and completely drain the tank.

Remove the filler cap from the fuel tank.

Using an approved hand-operated pump, drain
the fuel tank into a container of suitable
capacity. Refer to Specifications, Machine
Specifications.
Note: Be sure to only use a hand operated pump
suitable for use with gasoline and/or diesel fuel.

Tag, disconnect and plug the fuel supply and
return hoses. Cap the fittings.
10 Tag, disconnect and plug the supply and return
hoses from the hydraulic tank. Cap the fittings.
11 Support and secure the tank assembly to an
appropriate lifting device.
12 Remove the fasteners securing the tank
assembly to the chassis. Remove the tank
from the machine.

Bodily injury hazard. Beware of
hot oil. Contact with hot oil may
cause severe burns.
Explosion and fire hazard. When
transferring fuel, connect a
grounding wire between the
machine and pump or container.
Crushing hazard. The tank
assembly could become
unbalanced and fall if not properly
supported when removed from
the machine.
