Alarm messages
• System shall support 'sdhHOPath' profile type, all transmission & TCA fault causes
which are related to HO Path for SDH (includes ms/Sn adaptation, Sn NIM, Sn
termination, and MS-SPRing circuit audit) shall be classified as 'sdhHOPath'
profile type.
• System shall support 'sdhLOPath' profile type, all transmission & TCA causes
related to LOPath for SDH (includes Sn/Sm adaptation, Sm NIM, Sm termination)
shall be classified as 'sdhLOPath' profile type.
• System shall support 'sdhVCG' profile type, all transmission & TCA fault causes
which are related to Virtual Concatenation shall be classified as 'sdhVCG' profile
type.
• System shall support 'pdhPS' profile type, all transmission fault causes which are
related to Physical Section for PDH shall be classified as 'pdhPS' profile type.
• System shall support 'pdhPath' profile type, all transmission & TCA fault causes
which are related to path for PDH shall be classified as 'pdhPath' profile type.
• System shall support 'ethPS' profile type, all transmission fault causes which are
related to Physical Section for Ethernet shall be classified as 'ethPS' profile type.
• System shall support 'ethPath' profile type, all transmission & TCA fault causes
which are related to Path for Ethernet shall be classified as 'ethPath' profile type.
Alarm severity
The "Alarm severity (default setting)" entry in the alarm overview table indicates the
factory settings of the corresponding alarm's severity.
Each alarm can be assigned one of the following severities:
Alarm severity
Prompt
Deferred
Information
Reporting state
The "Reporting state (default setting)" entry in the alarm overview table indicates the
factory settings of the corresponding alarm's reporting state, i.e. whether an alarm is
reported towards the management systems or not.

Meaning
Prompt maintenance alarm:
Urgent alarm that requires immediate (prompt) maintenance
action.
Deferred maintenance alarm:
Non-urgent alarm that requires deferred maintenance action.
Informational alarm.
