BATTERY
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the left side cover (page 2-5).
Remove the trim clip and battery plate.
Remove the bolt and lower the battery holder.
With the ignition switch turned to "OFF," discon-
nect the negative (–) cable first, then disconnect the
positive (+) cable.
Remove the battery from the battery case.
Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.
• Connect the positive (+) cable first, then connect
the negative (–) cable.
• After connecting the battery cables, coat the ter-
minals with grease.
VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Remove the left side cover (page 2-5).
Measure the battery voltage using a commercially
available digital multimeter.
VOLTAGE (20° C/68° F):
Fully charged: 13.0 – 13.2 V
Under charged: Below 12.3 V
