Cleaning the chain

Warning
Danger of accidents Oil or grease on the tires reduces their grip.
Remove oil and grease with a suitable cleaning material.
Warning
Danger of accidents Reduced braking efficiency due to oil or grease on the brake discs.
Always keep the brake discs free of oil and grease, and clean them with brake cleaner when necessary.

Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.
Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.

The service life of the chain depends largely on its maintenance.

12.7.10 Checking the rear hub rubber dampers

The engine power is transmitted from the rear sprocket to the rear wheel via 6 rubber dampers. They eventually wear out during
operation. If the rubber dampers are not changed in time, the rear sprocket carrier and the rear hub will be damaged.
Check the chain guide for wear.

Wear is visible on the front of the chain guide.

If the light part of the chain guide is worn:
Change the chain guide.

Tighten the chain guide.

Take the motorcycle off of the rear wheel stand. (
Clean the chain regularly.
Rinse off loose dirt with a soft jet of water.
Remove old grease remains with chain cleaner.
