Power supply
Your server comes with one of the following power supply configurations:
• One or two hot-swap 550-watt power supplies (universal input and compliant with 80 PLUS Platinum)
• One or two hot-swap 750-watt power supplies (universal input and compliant with 80 PLUS Platinum)
• One or two hot-swap 750-watt power supplies (universal input and compliant with 80 PLUS Titanium)
• One or two hot-swap 1100-watt power supplies (universal input and compliant with 80 PLUS Platinum)
Airflow and cooling
• One or two heat sinks for microprocessor cooling
• Four system fans
Internal drives
Internal drives are devices that your server uses to read and store data. The internal drives supported
by your server vary by model.
• Internal storage drive
Depending on the model, your server supports different storage drives, such as hard disk drives or
solid-state drives. The term "2.5-inch hot-swap drives" or "2.5-inch drives" hereinafter refers to all the
supported types of 2.5-inch drives, including the solid-state drives.

Note: For server models with fifteen 3.5-inch-drive bays, you can install 2.5-inch drives and 3.5-inch

bay" on page 134.
• Optical drive
– Up to two 5.25-inch SATA optical drives
The server has two optical drive bays. The lower optical-drive bay is installed with a 5.25-inch SATA
optical drive. The upper bay is for a secondary optical drive. Some server models come with a
secondary optical drive installed in the upper bay.
• Tape drive
Your server supports an internal tape drive that enables you to store data on tape media. For more
information, see "Installing or replacing an internal tape drive" on page 120.
To locate the internal drives or drive bays, see "Front view of the server" on page 17.
