THROTTLE BODY POSITION SENSORS

The throttle position sensors are inside the motor of the
throttle body (1).
These sensors are potentiometers with a variable
resistance based on the opening angle of the acceler-
ator and operate in a crossed fashion.
The sensors are powered by the ECU at the estab-
lished voltage of 5V and provide, in output, a voltage
proportional to the throttle angle.
The ECU reads the output values of the two sensors
and based on the coherence of these values, it deter-
mines the throttle opening angle. If the two values are
not coherent it will provide a fault alert.
