If focus on the paper
improves, this indicates
that the right side of the
image is focusing in front
of the screen. See Figure
2.36.
If focus on the paper
worsens, this indicates that
the right side of the image
is focusing behind the
screen.
If the image comes into
GOAL:
focus on both sides
simultaneously, left/right
boresight is fine—skip to Step
7.
Adjust the horizontal boresight bolt (Figure
3.
2.37) as necessary to direct or "aim" the
lens toward the side of the image which
focused too close to the lens. When both
sides appear equally blurry, re-focus on the
left side of the screen.
Adjust horizontal offset to re-center the

image on the screen.
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until both sides of the

image are well focused.
Adjust the "hold" screw to lock in place,

and check boresight again.
When left/right boresight is
1.
complete, focus the image at
the top edge of the screen
(Figure 2.39.).
If the bottom remains blurry
while the top edge is focused,
refer back to Step 2 but use a
paper at the bottom of the
screen to determine whether
the bottom of the image is
focused in front of the screen
or behind the screen. If the
bottom is well focused, skip to Step 11.
