4-64 Configuring Your Server

Clearing CMOS Data

1.
See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" in Chapter 9 to prepare.
2.
Remove the side cover (see Chapter 9).
3.
Change jumper switch setting from "Protect" to "Clear".
See the figure on the previous page.
4.
After five seconds later, reinstall the jumper.
5.
Reassemble the server.
6.
Connect the power cord and power on the server.
7.
Press F2 during POST to run the BIOS Setup utility, and execute [Load Setup Defaults]
from [Save & Exit] menu.

Clearing Password

1.
See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" in Chapter 9 to prepare
2.
Remove the left side cover (see Chapter 9).
3.
Change jumper switch setting from "Protect" to "Clear".
4.
Reassemble the server, and turn on the power.
5.
Press F2 during POST to run the BIOS Setup utility, set the password again, and execute
[Load Setup Defaults] from [Save & Exit] menu.
6.
Power off the server, and change jumper switch setting from "Clear" to "Protect".
7.
Reassemble the server.
