PROCEDURE FOR UPGRADING FUSION ROUTER FIRMWARE

Note: The unit remains fully operational for the duration of the upload phase. However, the unit automatically reboots
once the upload completes, thus taking the Fusion out of service during approximately one to two minutes. Unless
otherwise stated, the user is not expected to take any special precautions.
Caution: It is important to have a stable power source and ensure that power to the Fusion is not interrupted during a
firmware upgrade.
1. Connect a PC running Windows XP or Windows®7 to the Fusion as shown in Figure 77 for OTA firmware upgrade or
as shown in Figure 78 for direct cable connection firmware upgrade.
a. For direct cable connection firmware upgrade, connect the Ethernet cable from the PC to the Ethernet jack
labeled ETH1 (center of the three Ethernet jacks).
b. Connect the 12 V DC power supply to the Power connector of the Fusion router. Connect the 12 V DC power
supply to 110 V AC power.
2. On the PC, open a web browser and enter the IP address of the Fusion router in the address bar.
When the PC is connected to the Ethernet jack labeled ETH1, the default IP address is 192.168.1. 50.
In the Windows task bar you may need to refresh (click repair) the network connection for the Ethernet port if
you connected the cable after booting the PC or Fusion.
3. A Web Server Authentication window appears as shown in Figure 8 on page 13. (This may take up to 90 seconds
after power is applied to the Fusion.) For the default User Name and Password see page 13. Click OK to log on.
4. Select Maintenance from the main navigation menu to navigate to the Maintenance page and then select the
Firmware tab.
