SYMPTON AND POSSIBLE SOLUTION
This error occurs if the DTI Server cannot communicate with the CP
Server. To correct the problem, verify the DTI Server computer is run-
ning. Also, verify the IP address (located in the Desktop OAI Connec-
tion Settings tab in the DTI Server Settings dialog box) is the CP
Server's IP address. If the CP Server is running and the DTI Server
knows the correct IP address, contact your network administrator. To
determine the location of the error, do the following:
Ping the CP Server (the destination host) to see if you get the
same results.
Check whether or not you have a router configured in your net-
work system (your WinSock implementation).
Do a traceroute to determine where the failure occurs along the
route between the DTI Server and the CP Server.
The DTI Server could not initiate a connection to the CP Server
because the CP Server never responded. Do the following:
Verify the IP address (located in the Desktop OAI Connection
Settings tab in the DTI Server Settings dialog box) is the CP
Server's IP address.
Check the DTI Server computer subnet mask. An improper sub-
net mask can cause this error. If you do not know your subnet
mask, contact your network administrator.
Contact your network administrator to verify all routers are up
and running (check by pinging them, and then ping addresses
on the other side of them).
Do a traceroute to the CP Server (the destination address) to
check that all routers are functioning.
Windows cannot fulfill communication requirements of the DTI Server
because the underlying system is currently unavailable. Verify that
networking and TCP/IP are correctly and fully installed on the DTI
Server computer. If necessary, reinstall networking, TCP/IP, and/or
Windows to correct this problem.
See
"Network subsystem is unavailable" on page
Windows does not support the TCP/IP version required by the DTI
Server. Reinstall TCP/IP. If the problem persists, check to see if
Microsoft has an update or patch to resolve the version conflict.
The DTI Server cannot connect to the specified IP address. Verify the
IP address (located in the Desktop OAI Connection Settings tab in the
DTI Server Settings dialog box) is the CP Server's IP address.
TCP/IP is not installed on the DTI Server computer. Install the TCP/IP
networking protocol. You can install this protocol from the Network
control panel.
