SYMPTON AND POSSIBLE SOLUTION
An error occurred that aborted the connection between the DTI
Server and the CP Server. This problem probably indicates a network
error. This problem might be transient, therefore the software might
start working. Otherwise, your network administrator needs to identify
where the problem occurred. The following suggestions might help
identify the problem source.
Ping the remote CP Server computer.
If it does not respond, the computer might be offline, or there
may be a network problem along the way.
If it does respond, this problem might be transient (the connec-
tion will be restored again), or the CP Server might have termi-
nated (the connection will not be restored).
Ping a local host to verify your local network is still functioning (if
using a serial connection, see the next step).
Ping your local router address. If using a serial connection, your
local router is the IP address of the host you initially logged onto
with SLIP or PPP.
Ping a host on the same subnet as the host to which you were
connected (if you know one). This step will verify that the desti-
nation network is functioning.
Try a traceroute to the host to which you were connected. This
will not reveal much unless you know the router addresses at
the remote end, but it might help to identify if the problem is
somewhere along the way.
The CP Server refused the connection. This error has two common
causes:
Wrong IP Address: Verify the IP address (located in the Desk-
top OAI Connection Settings tab in the DTI Server Settings dia-
log box) is the IP address of the CP Server.
Wrong TCP Port: Verify the TCP port (located in the Desktop
OAI Connection Settings tab in the DTI Server Settings dialog
box) is the TCP port which the CP Server is allowing an applica-
tion to connect.
