DIMM Installation

IMPORTANT: Registered 100-MHz ECC SDRAM DIMMs must be used. Before installing
additional DIMMs, read the previous section, "Important Guidelines for DIMM Installation."
The Compaq Professional Workstation AP400 supports Registered 100-MHz ECC SDRAM
DIMMs. Additional DIMMs (32-, 64-, 128-, or 256-MB) are available to upgrade the memory.
The workstation has four DIMM sockets located on the system board with tray that support up to
a maximum of 1 GB.
The following illustration identifies the physical location of all DIMM sockets. Note that
DIMMs do not need to be installed in pairs, and can be installed in any of the available DIMM
sockets.
