Runtime Printer error messages
For error messages related to canceling jobs and printing, including the Disk
full message and alerts to local media, refer to the sections Job management
error messages and Clearing the Printer.
Users can turn on PostScript error reporting as a print option from Mac OS
applications.
The following table lists the messages, a description of the problem, and
action to take.

Message
Description and action
Ensure that the interface cable
between the server and the Printer is
connected, or the Printer may be off.
The printer may have a conflicting or
missing name, or address setting. The
required names are:
TCP/IP host name (also known as
the DNS name), which is defined by
your organization. Enter the host
name as the Server Name in Printer
Setup.
Remote Printer (internal machine)
name. Use either print or hold.
Configure one of the Fiery utilities on
each workstation if you change the
DNS name (also known as the TCP/IP
host name of the Printer).
Refer to the Name Table that follows
for the appropriate name to use.
Check the following:
Printer Setup—the appropriate
network protocol must be enabled,
with the correct parameters (for
example, TCP/IP, the IP address,
etc.) and you must have published
either the Print queue or the Hold
queue.
