Adding CTS Endpoints and Cisco Unified IP Phone Devices

To add CTS endpoints and Cisco Unified IP phone devices, follow these steps:
Step 1
Choose Device > Phone. The Find and List Phones window appears.
Use the Find feature to locate your device and click on your device. The Phone Configuration window

For each Cisco TelePresence endpoint device, complete the following steps:

In the User Group Information field, choose a Name for the group and click Save.
Choose User Management > Roles. The Find and List Roles window appears.
Click Add New. The Role Configuration window appears.
From the Role Information drop-down menu, assign following applications to the user group that
you created in

Cisco CallManager AXL Database API—Click Next. Name the Role and check to allow
access in the Resource Access Information box.
Cisco Computer Telephone Interface CTI—Click Next. Name the Role and allow access in
the Resource Access Information box.
Cisco CallManager Serviceability—Click Next. Name the Role and check to allow privileges
in the Resource Access Information box.
Cisco CallManager Administration—Click Next. Name the Role and check to allow
privileges in the Resource Access Information box.

In the Device Information window, select the Allow Control of Device from CTI check-box at the
bottom of the window.
In the Product Specific Configuration Layout window, enter the room e-mail ID in the Room Name
field.
You cannot assign the same email address to more than one room. If this happens, correct the
email address in Cisco Unified CM and resync in the Microsoft Exchange or IBM Domino
window in CTS-Manager.
Assign the same directory number (DN) as the Cisco Unified IP phone that is associated with the
CTS endpoint.
If a room display name is changed once CTS Manager is up and running, CTS-Manager reads
the new display name once every 24 hours, so the new name will display after this 24 hour
period. When a new room is added to Cisco Unified CM, CTS Manager does not require a
restart.
