Installing a DIMM

Install a memory module by performing the following steps:
1. Remove the system unit cover (see "Removing the Side
Covers").
2. If you need to remove a currently installed memory
module, see "Removing a DIMM."
Before you install a module, reduce static
discharge by touching the system's metal
chassis.
3. Align the new module with an empty memory socket.
(See the installation guidelines at the beginning of
"DIMM Upgrade.") Make sure the notches on the module
align with the keys in the socket.
