Installing a DIMM

Install a memory module by performing the following steps:
Remove the left cover of the system unit (see "Removing the Covers").

Remove the drive cage (see "Removing the Drive Cage").
3.
If you need to remove a currently installed memory module, see "Removing a
DIMM").
4.
Align the long notched edge of the new module with an empty memory socket.
Make sure that the notches on the module line up with the keys in the socket.
5.
Press the module firmly into the socket.
Make sure the plastic clips at either end of the module click closed.
6.

CAUTION: Before you install a module, reduce
static discharge by touching the system's metal
chassis.
