Network Controller
The system board includes a 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX
network controller based on the Intel 82558 Fast Ethernet
PCI Bus Controller. As a PCI bus master, the controller
can burst data at up to 132 MB/sec. The controller
contains two receive and transmit FIFO buffers that
prevent data overruns or underruns while waiting for
access to the PCI bus.

System Board Management Controller (BMC)
Server management is concentrated in the System Board
Management Controller (BMC). The BMC and associated
circuitry are powered from a 5Vdc standby voltage, which
remains active when system power is switched off.

USB Ports
The workstation has two Universal Serial Bus (USB)
connectors. You can connect two USB peripherals directly
to the system without a special connector. Connect an
external hub to either of the USB connectors and add
additional USB devices of any kind.
USB connections reduce the complexity of connections,
get rid of tangled cables, and eliminate the need to swap
devices.
A single USB port can connect up to 127 daisy-chained
devices.

System Memory
Your workstation comes with at least 64 MB of SDRAM
and supports up to 1 GB. The system memory is made up
of 168-pin Dual In-Line Memory Modules (DIMMs).
NEC CSD supports ECC DIMMs in the system. PC100-
MHz DIMMs are required for the system.
