Use the following guidelines in selecting and installing
DIMMs:
T
A DIMM must always be installed in the bottom socket.
T
Memory can be installed in one, two, three, or four
sockets.
T
An additional DIMM must go in the first empty socket
above DIMMs already installed.
T
When removing DIMMs, start with the first DIMM socket
closest to the top edge of the system board.
T
The size of the DIMMs can vary between sockets.
T
The speed of the DIMMs should be 100 MHz.
T
Single- and double-sided DIMMs are supported
T
NEC CSD supports ECC DIMMs only.
To determine what configuration of DIMMs to use, see the
table "Supported DIMMs." For sample memory
configurations, see the table "Sample DIMM Upgrade Paths."
To locate memory module sockets on the system board, see
the following figure. To determine how much memory you
need to purchase for a memory upgrade, see "Checking
System Memory."
