Replication Management : Create New Replication

This table describes how to create a new SAN Volume Replication Pair.
Step
Description
2
Select the Primary IP Address from the dropdown box. The dropdown box contains a list
of the IP addresses of the local primary Storage Appliance. Keep in mind that the Storage
Appliance ships with two NICs, so there should only be two IP Addresses in this field
unless you have installed another NIC.
3
Next, select a SAN Volume that you want to replicate from the table. The table displays a
list of Volumes on the primary Storage Appliance.
4
Next, either manually enter the IP Address of the remote Storage Appliance or select it
from the remote server dropdown menu.
5
Enter credentials for the remote Storage Appliance and click on Next. Once logged in, all
suitable SAN Volumes on the remote Storage Appliance will be shown if available. If
none, you have the option to create a new volume in an existing or new storage pool.
6
Select the SAN Volume that you want to configure as a replica of the local volume or
enter information for a new pool and volume to be created on the secondary.
7
Select the Replication type (if applicable).
8
Set the Resync Priority. This field allows you to customize your resync priority. 25% is
the default setting.
Resync is used to synchronize the volumes. Setting the resync priority closer to 100%
makes the volumes more current, however it takes more system resources (such as CPU
and memory resources) when this setting is higher.
9
Click the Create Replication Pair button.
