Control Panel : iSCSI Settings : ISNS Setting Page
Internet Storage Name Service or iSNS is a common discovery, naming, and resource
management service for all of the IP storage protocols.
The ISNS Setting page allows you to enable/disable the ISNS service and set an entity
and/or alias name. This page also allows you to register/unregister this StorTrends iTX
box with multiple ISNS servers.
Field/Item
Description
Enable ISNS box
Check/uncheck this box to enable or disable the ISNS service.
Entity Name field
This field displays the Entity name.
Alias Name field
This field displays the Alias name. This is configurable.
ISNS Server IP field
This field allows you to enter the IP address of an ISNS server that you want to add to the
ISNS server IP list, thereby registering the StorTrends iTX server appliance with that
server.
Add button
Use this button to add an entered ISNS server IP to the ISNS server IP list.
ISNS Server IP list
This list displays the ISNS server IP addresses that have been added.
Target Status
This field displays the status of the target.
Server Status
This field displays the status of ISNS server.
Remove button
Use this button to remove selected ISNS server IP addresses from the list.
Remove All button
Use this button to remove all ISNS server IP addresses from the list.
Apply button
Use this button to save changes and make the changes active.
Refresh button
Use this button to rebuild the window with the most recently-saved information.
Note:
If your iSNS server shows Inconsistent as its status, you will need to remove and then re-
add it to the list.
