High Availability the remote server must be a separate box and must have the exact same specifications of
the primary box.
You must type the IP Address into the Enter Remote Server Address field or select it from the drop down
menu next to the 'or select remote server' option.
You must also enter the access information. Enter the administrator account name and password for the
Secondary box into the appropriate fields.
Click the Next button to continue.

The wizard will begin to configure both boxes as a High Availability Pair (HA Pair). When it completes, it
will display the High Availability Management Page.
If you are creating a second HA pair, you do not need the iSCSI mirror specification.
Therefore for a second HA pair, the procedure is as follows:

Click on Replication in navigation tree.

Click on Remote Replication.

Enter or select the IP address of the remote server. Click on Next.

Select SAN as volume type and High-Availability as replication type on next page.

Remaining steps are the same as for the initial HA pair creation.

Managing your High Availability Pair from the High Availability Management page

Use the High Availability Management Page to manage your High Availability Pair.
To access this page, click on the Replication node in the navigation tree, then click High
Availability.
Field
Description
Local/Remote Pool
This field displays the pair's Local and Remote Storage Pools respectively.
Local/Remote Volume
This field displays the pair's Local and Remote SAN Volumes respectively.
Volume Size
This field displays the SAN Volumes' size (must be the same for both volumes in a pair).
Replication Role
This field displays the Replication Role. The Storage Appliance volume can either be the
Primary or the Remote volume of a given pair.
Replication Mode
Only Synchronous Replication Mode is supported in High Availability.
Link Status
Can be either Link Up or Link Failure.
Connection Mode
Auto means that the replication pair is synchronized automatically. Manual means that the
replication pair can be synchronized manually.
Resync. Priority
This field allows you to customize your resync priority. 25% is the default setting.
Resync is used to synchronize the volumes. Setting the resync priority closer to 100%
makes the volumes more current, however it takes more system resources (such as CPU
and memory resources) when this setting is higher.
Remote Host
This field displays the IP Address of the Remote Host. In the event that the IP Address
changes on the Remote Host (such as the case when using DHCP), you can update the new
IP Address by typing it into this field. In the case of a local replication pair (involving two
volumes in the same local box, this column will show "local".
