Storage : Shares

This page displays a list of NAS shares that are available on this Storage Appliance along
with all protocols that have been enabled for each. Here you can also create more shares,
or configure universal permissions to the Everyone group for the selected share.

Storage : Target Management

To view a list of all targets for this iTX device, click on the Targets header in the
navigation tree, under Storage. This page displays a list of targets that are available on
this Storage Appliance, along with their connection and status information.
An iSCSI Target (such as a volume located in the ManageTrends) is any device that
responds to and communicates with the iSCSI initiator, while utilizing the TCP/IP
protocol and the iSCSI protocol.
Click on an individual target's name to view its Management page.
Field
Description
Name
This field displays the name of the Target.
Status
This field displays the status as either Enabled or Disabled. You can use the button to
toggle it from Enabled or Disabled.
Disable
Click on this button to disable this target for iSCSI communications
Delete
Click on this button to delete this target from the StorTrends iTX device
Member Volume List
This lists displays all the SAN Virtual Volumes assigned to this Target.
Users Currently
This list displays all the initiators and usernames (if applicable) that are currently logged

Target

Storage : Target Management : Security

This section adds an additional level of security for the Target being accessed. To view it,
get to the Target Management page, and then click on the Security link at the top.
Options are listed to allow all listed initiators (as obtained from the iSNS server(s)) or to
give exclusive access to a selected initiator with or without CHAP authentication. The
last option allows the manual entry of a selected initiator or of a local user along with
his/her password, in the case when iSNS is not being used.
