PCIe slot guidelines for network cards and PCIe workload accelerator options

The following table shows the PCIe riser board slots supported with the network cards and the PCIe workload accelerator
options of the server.
Component
HPE Ethernet networking card
HPE Ethernet 4-port networking
card
HPE 10 Gb networking card
(Supported up to max 3 pcs)
HPE 25/40/100 Gb networking card
(Supported up to max 1 pc)
HPE PCIe Workload Accelerator
options (Supported up to max 3 pcs)

Installing an expansion board

Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-10 Torx screwdriver available.
Procedure
1.
If installed, remove the front bezel.
2.
Power down the server.
3.
Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5.
Do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack.
Remove the server from the rack.
6.
Remove the access panel.
7.
Remove the riser cage.
8.
If required, remove the air baffle.
9.
Identify and then remove the slot blank from the riser cage.
10. If installing expansion board on a low-profile slot on the secondary riser cage, replace the full-height bracket with the
low-profile bracket. See the expansion board document for model-specific support bracket information.
11. Install the expansion board.
