The engine compartment of any motor vehicle is a potentially
hazardous area . Never reach into th e area around or touch the
radiator fa n. It is temperature controlled and can switch on
suddenly - even when the engine is off and the ignition key has
been removed. The radiator fan switches on autom atically when
the coolant reaches a certain temperature and will continue to run
until the coolant tempe rature drops.
Always remove the ignition key before anyone gets under the
vehicle.
Always support your vehicle with safety stands if it is necessary
to work unde rneath the vehicle. The jac k supplied with the vehicle
is not adequate for thi s purpose and could collapse causing
serious personal injury.
If you must work underneath the vehicle w ith the wheels on
the ground , always ma ke sure the vehicle is on level ground , th at
the wheels are always securely blocked and that the engine cannot
be started .
Always make sure the transmi ssion selector lever is in "P"
(Park position) and the hand brake is fi rmly applied.

For the sake of the environment
Changing the engine settings will adversely affect emiss ion levels.
This is d etr imen t al t o the envi ronme nt and increases fue l co nsump-
tion.
Always observe enviro nmental regulations when dispos ing of old
engine oi l, used brake flu id, d irty engine coo lant, spent batter ies or
worn o ut t ires.
Undep loyed airbag modules and pretensioners

. When the vehicle or
parts of t he rest raint syst em includ ing air bag m od ules sa fety belts
w ith pretens ioners are sc rapped, all applicable laws and regulat ions
must be observed. Your a uthor ized Aud i de aler is fa miliar with these
req uirements and we recomme nd that you have your dealer perform
th is serv ice fo r yo u. •
