In or d er for the tire pressure monitoring system to operate
appropriately,
you have to re-save the specified pressures
whenever you adjust t ire pressures, for example when the
load condition of your vehicle changes. Proceed as follows:
Corr e cting
tir e pressure
- Check the pressure in the tires .
- Adjust air pressure as needed to comply with the informa-
tion on the label located on the driver's side B-pillar
(visible when the door is open).
Saving
t ire pressures
- Turn on the ignition .
- Press the button => fig. 151 for approximately
5 seconds.
You will hear a b eep and the symbol in the instrument
cluster flashes three times.
All pressure warning ind icators in the d isplay w ill be canceled.
Following each intentional change in specified pressures, t ire pres-
sures must be resaved.
After the pressures are saved, the t ire pressure monitoring system
measures the current tire pressures and saves them as the new spec-
ified pressures.

Tips
The t ir e pressure is shown on the tire pressure label. The t ire pres-
sure label is located on the driver's side B-pillar (visible when the door
is open). The t ire pressu re label lists the recommended cold ti re infla-
tion pressures for the vehicle at its max imum capacity we ight and the
tires that were on your vehicle at the time it was manufactu red. For
recommended tire pressures for normal load conditions, please see
chapter ~ page

The tire pressure monitor ing system helps the driver to keep an
eye on tire pressures. But the drive r st ill has t he responsib ili ty f or
ma inta ining the correct tire pressure . •
Wheel
change
If a wheel is changed, the wheels that were exchanged
have to be re-programmed.
- Turn on t he ignition.

5 seconds . You will hear a beep and t he symbol in the
button flashes three times .
Programming is necessary:
after the tires have been rotated on the vehicle, or the spare tire is
used,
if tires with new wheel sensors are used.
All pressure wa rning ind icators in the d isplay w ill be canceled. The
system malfunction error message will not disappear unt il the
vehicle is unde rway. Wi t h pressing t he button ~ page

the re-programming of the new sensors and stor ing of actual pres-
sures sta rts . This learn ing phase can take up to 10 minutes driving
time.
During the learning process the tire pressure monitoring system is
not available. •
