If the sensors are to be installed on different rims, the seal, washer ,
and valve cap for ea ch sensor mus t be rep laced .
If you install rims, which do not have t he sensors, or have senso rs
which are not compatib le, t hen the tire pressure monitoring system
will not wo rk properly. In this case, t he tire pressure mo nitor ing
system wo uld not be able to monitor the tire pressure or warn you if
it is nece ssary.
• The battery inside of the tire pressure sensor has a limited serv ice
life.
• Always dr ive wit h the valve stem caps securely mounted. We
recommend using fact ory insta lled valve st em caps. Ask your a utho -
rized Aud i dealer to replace lost valve stem caps .
The installation of replacement tires with steel cord body plies in the
t ire sidewall may cause malfunct ion of t he t ire pressure monito ring
system, and is not recommended (cord materia l information in
mo lde d on t he tire sidewall).
Always check your t ire pressure monitoring system indicator after
rep lacing one or mo re tires on your vehicle . If t he tire pressure mon i-
toring system indicator flashes, or is on, your system is not work ing
prope rly. Your replacement tire might be incompat ible with your tire
pressure monito ring system, or some componen t of the tir e pressu re
monitoring system may be damaged .

WARNING
Using incorrect or unmatched tires and/ or wheels or improper
tire and wheel combinations can lead to loss of control, collision
and serious personal injury.
Always use tires, rims and wheel bolts that meet the specifica-
tion s of original factory-installed tire s or other combination s that
have been specifically approved by the vehicle manufacturer .
Tires age even if they are not being used and can fail suddenly,
especially at high speeds. Tires that are more than 6 years old can
only be used in an emergency and then with special care and at
lower speeds.
&
WARNING (continued )
• Never mount used tire s on your vehicle if you are not sure of
their "previous history ." Old used tires may have been damaged
eventhoughthedamagecannotbeseenthatcanleadtosudden
tire failure and loss of vehicle control.
• All four wheel s must be fitted with radial tire s of the same
type, size (rolling circumference ) and the same tread pattern .
Driving with different tires reduces vehicle handling and can lead
to a loss of control.
• If the s pa re tire is not the same as the tires that are mounted
on the vehicle - for example with winter tires - only use the spare
tire for a short per iod of time and drive with extra care. Refit the
normal road wheel as soon as safely pos sible .
• Never drive faster than the maximum s peed for which the tires
on your vehicle are rated becau se tires that are driven fa ster than
their rated speed can fail suddenly .
• Overloading tires cause heat build-up, sudden tire failure,
including a blowout and sudden deflation and loss of control.
• Temperature grades app ly to tires that are properly inflated
and not over or underinflated.
• For technical reasons it is not always possible to use wheels
from other vehicles- in some cases not even wheels from the same
vehicle model.
• If you install wheel trim discs on the vehicle wheel s, make sure
that the air flow to the brakes is not blocked . Reduced airflow to
the brakes can them to overheat , increasing stopping distances
and causing a collision.
Run flat tire s may only be us ed on vehicle s that were equipped
with them at the factory. The vehicle must have a chassis designed
fo r run flat tires and a factory-installed tire pressure monitoring
system that indicates a loss of tire pressure. Incorrect use of run
flat tires can lead to vehicle damage or accident s . Check with an
authorized Audi dealer or tire specialist to see if your veh icle can
