switched on o r when the engine is runni ng, otherwise, you will
damage electron ic components in t he electr ical system.

damaged and will then have to be replaced . •
Checking
the
battery
acid level
on magic
eye batteries*
The batt ery acid level in the battery can be checked
through the clear inspection window.

Air bubb les in the window can cause an inaccurate reading. Carefully
tap o n the sid e of the window.

If the window is
green ,
t he battery acid level is correct .
•
If the windo w has
no color
or is
bright yellow ,
the bat t ery acid
level is too low. Have the battery tested by you r a uthorized Aud i
dealer or a quali fied workshop.
•
If the window is
black,
then the batte ry is insufficien t ly charged .

Do not overfill the battery, otherwise battery acid will overflow
through the vent open ing. This can damage the paint an d cause
corrosion. •

Starting the engine requires a well charged batte ry .
