Taking
the wheel
off
Follow these instruc tions step-by-step for changing the
wheel .

After you have loosened all wheel bolts and raised the veh icle
off the ground, pe rform the followi ng steps to remove and
replace the wheel:
Removing
the wheel
- Use the
hexagonal socket in the screwdriver handle
to
comple t ely turn out the topmost wheel bolt and set it
aside on a
clean
su rface => fig . 163.
- Screw the threaded end of the
alignment pin
from the
tool kit ha nd-tight into the now vacant bolt ho le
=> fig. 164.
- Then complete ly unscrew the other wheel bolts as
de scribed ab ove .
- Take off the wheel leav ing the alignment pin in the bolt
hole.
Putting
on the wheel
- Lift the spare wheel and carefully slide it over the align-
ment pin to gu ide it in place .
- Use the hexagonal socket in the screwdriver handle to
screw in and tighten all wheel bolts
slightly.
Unscrew the alignment pin and insert and t ighten the
remaini ng whee l bolt sligh t ly like t he rest.
- Turn the jack handle counter-c lockwise to lower the
vehicle until the jack is fu lly released .
- Use the wheel bolt wrench to tighten all whee l bolts firmly
=>
page 254.
Tighten t hem
crosswise,
from one bolt to
the (approx imately) opposite one, to keep the wheel
cente red .

Tips
Never use the hexagonal socket in the handle of the screwdriver to
loosen or tighten the whee l bolts.
•
Pull the reversible blade from the screwd river before you use the
hexagonal socket in the handle to turn the wheel bolts .
• When mounting tires with
unid irection al tread design
make sure
the tread patte rn is po inted the right way ~ page 257 .
