Tips
• Air circulation helps to reduce window fogging. Sta le air escapes
to the outs ide through vents in t he trim panel, on the left side of the
luggage compa rtment . Be sure t o keep t hese slo t s free and open.
• The tire press ure must correspond to the load - see the tire pres-
sure st icke r on dr iver's side B-pilla r. •
Tie-downs
The luggage comportment is equipped with four tie-
dow ns to secure lugga g e and oth er item s.

In a collision, the laws of physics mean that even sma ller it e ms that

normal weig ht of the item . This means that the weight of t he item
wou ld suddenly be a bout 200 lbs. (90 kg). You can imagine the inju-
ries t ha t a 200 lbs. (9 0 kg) item flying free ly t hroug h t he pa ss enge r
compartment

Weak, damaged or improper straps used to secure items to tie-
downs can fail during hard braking or in a collision and cause
serious personal injury.
Always use suitable mounting strap s and properly secure items
to the tie-downs in the luggage compartment to help prevent
items from shifting or flying forward as dangerous missiles .
When the rear seat backrest is folded down, always use suit -
able mounting straps and properly secure item s to the tie-down s
in the luggage compartment to help prevent items from flying
forward as dangerous missiles into the passenger compartment.
Never attach a child safety seat tether strap to a tie -down. •

If you believe that your vehicle has a defect
which could cause a crash or could cause injury
or death , you should immediat ely inform th e
Nat ional Highway Traffic Safety Administration
(NHTSA) in addition to notifying Audi of
America, Inc.
If NHTSA receives similar complaint s, it may
open an investigation, and if it find s that a
safety defects exist s in a group of vehicles, it
may order a recall and remedy campaign.
