Note
For techn ica l reaso ns, it is no t ge ne rally poss ible to use t he wheel
rims from other vehicles. This can hold true for wheels of t he same
vehicle type.
If the spare tire is different from the tires that you have mo unted
on your vehicle (for examp le winte r t ires o r wide profile tires), t hen
use the spare t ire for a short per iod of t ime on ly and drive with ext ra
care. Replace t he flat t ire with the t ire ma tc hing the ot he rs on your
vehicle as soon as poss ible .
If yo u should put differen t wheels a nd t ires on you r vehicle (e .g .
winter whee ls and tires) , you must be certa in that t he wheels and
t ires a re com pat ible wit h the t ire pressu re mon itor ing system. Ot he r-
wise the system will registe r a malfunct ion and a fau lt message will
be displayed. For more information, contact your Audi dealer .

• When installing new tires, be careful not to damage the valves or
tire pressu re monito ring sys t em senso rs .
Never dr ive without t he valve st em ca p . The valves could get
damaged .
If the sens ors mu st be repla ced, then t he valve must also be
replaced at the same time .

All passenger car tires must confo rm to Federa l Safety Requirements
in addition to t hese g rades.
Tread
wear
The
tread wear
grade is a compa rative rat ing based on the wear rate
of the tire when teste d un d er contro lled conditions on a specifie d
government t e st cou rse .
For example, a tire graded 150 would wear one and one half (11/2)
ti mes as we ll on th e gove rnmen t course as a t ire graded 100 .
The relat ive performance of t ires depe nds upo n t he actua l condi t ions
of their use, however, and may depa rt significantly from t he norm
due to variat io ns in d riving hab its, se rvice practices and differences in
road characte rist ics and climate.
Traction
The
traction
grades, from highes t to lowes t , are AA, A, B and
C.
Those
grades represent t he t ire's ab ility to stop on wet pave men t as
measured un der controlled cond it ions on specified government test
surfaces of as phalt and conc rete . A tir e marked C may have poor t rac-
tion performance =>& .
Temperature
The
temperature
grades are A (the highest), B, and C, representing
th e t ire's res ista nce t o the gene ration of heat a nd its ability to d issi-
pate heat when teste d unde r contro lled conditions on a specified
indoor laboratory tes t whe e l.
