Cast (light)

Cast (light) alloy wheels require special care.
- Wash the whee ls wit h a sponge or hose brus h every other
wee k.
- For deep cleani ng afterwards,
use on ly a ded icated acid-
free cast alloy wheel cleaner.
- Rub a coat of liquid wax onto the rims every three mont h .
Be su re to reach and treat all par t s of t he rim.
To preserve t he decorative ap pearance of the cast alloy whee ls, so m e
special care is necessary . In addition t o road dirt and sa lt , bra ke dust
is a lso cor rosive . If left on for too long, brake dust can ca use pit t ing.
Use on ly spe cia l
acid-free
cleaners formu lated fo r a lloy rims . Safe
prod ucts are ava ilab le at your Audi dealer. Never leave the cleaner on
t he rims longe r t ha n spec ified on t he label.
If
not rinsed off p romp t ly,
the ac id contained in some cleaners can attack the t hr eads on the
w heel bol t s.
Never use abrasive or metal polish ing cleani ng agents. If the protec-
tive coating has been chipped, e.g. by kicked up road dirt, touch it up
as soon as possible .

Body cavity
sealing
The body cavity sealing does not need to be checked .
All body cavit ies which could be affected by corrosion have been given
t horough protection at t he fact ory.
This sea ling does not req uire any inspect ion or addit ional t reatment.
If any wax shou ld seep out of the cavity when the ambient tempera-
tu re is high, it can be removed with a plast ic sc rape r and a suitable
solvent.

Solvents can be dangerous.

Benzine is flammable and to xic. If you use benzine for
removing the wax , keep sparks, flame and lighted cigarettes
away. Never dump benzine on the ground, into open streams or
down sewage drains .

Be sure to observe all safety and environmental regulations.
