Field Definitions

Logical Unit Number (Byte 01, bits 7-5)
The library does not support Logical Unit Numbers, so this field must be 00h.
Prevent (Byte 04, bit 0)
The valid values for this field are as follows:
0 - Allow removal of data cartridges
1 - Prevent removal of data cartridges
Upon receipt of the Prevent/Allow Medium Removal command with the Prevent bit set
to 1, the library disables the removal of tape cartridges. When the Prevent bit's current
setting is 1, data cartridges cannot be removed until one of the following occurs:
•
The library receives another Prevent/Allow Medium Removal command, with the
Prevent bit set to 0, from each initiator that set the Prevent condition.
•
The library receives a Bus Device Reset message from any initiator.
•
Power is interrupted and then returned to the library.
